Muellerized...
The last couple days i was down at Muellerized... owned by SCCA racer and suspension extraordinaire John Mueller. I worked for him a couple years back when they were rebuilding their Muellerized widebody evo owned by Kent Jordan, which eventually won 24 consecutive races. I recently ran into him at Willow Springs, we got to talking and he asked me to come down and do some work at his shop.

John had me come down to do some quick work on a customer's Rx7 that will be hitting the track this coming weekend. First thing on the agenda was putting a passenger seat and harness in the car. One particular problem with mounting an after market seat in an FC is the trans tunnel. One can use seat mounts but the seat sits really high and anyone taller than 5'6" might have clearance issues with the roll cage. To solve this, i cut out the factory mounts, massaged the trans tunnel and fitted the seat extra low for 6'+ clearance.

Next up was a kill switch that would be needed to pass tech inspection for the event. It was noted that it needed to be within reach of the driver while in a seated position, but also accessible from the outside in case of emergency. I came up with a Kill switch plate and clean location to mount it..

That was the first day down there, along with helping out around the shop with some other stuff going on... That evening I came back to Hot Line and whipped up a tow hook for the car, and installed it the next morning...

The last item on the agenda was to clean up the starter harness and incorporate the kill switch wiring so that it looked factory...

The car turned out great, and they were happy with the work. I look forward to doing some more projects with them in the future!
